How ERP-Apps and Arribatec support the University of Strathclyde

When Unit4’s web payments system was being replaced, the finance team at the University of Strathclyde needed something they were happy with. The University finance team were struggling to find something that did everything they needed.

When ERP-Apps demoed a new customer-portal solution, Strathclyde embraced the new technology and haven’t looked back since.

When Paul McShane, Project Manager at the University of Strathclyde was looking for a new web payment solution for theirUnit4ERP system, he looked at ERP-Apps customer portal. ‘We felt it would be a better fit for us and we could customise it to fit our needs. We also need the ability for students & parents to make advance payments for our various payment categories and our online registration process.”

They wanted one place for the students to see and pay all their Invoices, with the ability to update their bank accounts for the payment of bursaries, grants, etc. The Customer Portal also had the added bonus of automatically running GL07s to allocate payments to invoices, reducing the manual matching work their financial team were going to have to do, reducing risk of error and giving the team time to work on more progressive and productive tasks.

“The ERP-APPS customer portal has enabled us to improve our student payment experience, as well as giving us real time payments and invoice matching in Unit4 ERP”

The project to implement the Customer Portal was run by the University Systems team who undertook most of the work themselves using the documentation provided by ERP-Apps with the solution.

The ERP-APPS and Arribatec Teams did provide support when it was required, with the consultants working in an agile way to support Strathclyde with the implementation, making tweaks to the product so that it really worked for their precise needs.

Looking to the future the University are now working on a project to roll self service out to commercial customers and are also considering the ERP-APPS forms portal with its automated checks, for their customer and supplier onboarding. Alongside this they are also implementing the supplier self service portal.
